Lower fee income cuts profit for Kiwibank

State-owned bank reports record deposit and loan growth.

Lower fees and higher costs drove profit down at state-owned Kiwibank for the year to June, despite a growing customer base.

Net profit of $108 million was down 6% on the previous year while net interest income rose 8% to $445m.

Chief executive Steve Jurkovich said more customers had joined
