Kiwibank boss backs RBNZ’s cheap money programme

Kiwibank chief executive Steve Jurkovich has defended a government programme that has allowed it to fund $1 billion in mortgages at a cheap rate.

The $28b Funding for Lending Programme (FLP) allows banks to borrow directly from the Reserve Bank at the official cash rate.
