Kiwi startups struggling for capital, but there are rays of hope

Kiwi startups have relied on angel investors, but often this means that they sell too much equity to be attractive to VC funds.

The private capital markets of New Zealand and Australia have delivered lower returns than other developed economies, and the private equity market is on track for its slowest year for deal values since 2015.
