Fonterra announces sale of Soprole for $1b
Co-op committed to 'significant' capital return from cash proceeds.
A stake in Chilean dairy products company Soprole was first acquired by the NZ Dairy Board in 1988.
Fonterra has announced a conditional deal to sell its business in Chile, Soprole, for 591.07 billion Chilean pesos, or about $1.06b.
The buyer is Gloria Foods of Peru, a consumer dairy company with operations in Bolivia, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Colombia and Uruguay.
