Current account deficit remains steady at three-year lows

Net liabilities rise to 57% of GDP, the highest in two years.

The seasonally adjusted current account deficit of $2.5 billion at December 31, 2018, is largely unchanged from the previous September quarter, Stats NZ says.

Decreased dairy and meat product exports widened the goods deficit to $1.0b due to lower dairy prices and smaller meat volumes.
