Chinese demand pares annual trade deficit to $5.2b
Higher dairy and meat exports in September were offset by lower log and fruit prices.
Booming farm exports to China led by dairy and meat products helped narrow the overseas trade deficit by $100 million in the past year.
The figure may be less than impressive but at least annual deficits have steadied since they first exceeded the $5 billion mark in December 2017.
