NBR Wellington bureau reporter Calida Stuart-Menteath won the business journalist of the year at the Voyager Media Awards.
NBR co-editor Tim Hunter was a finalist in the same category.
The judges commented on her entry: "Calida presented a strong portfolio of articles, which were all backed by sound research and attention to detail that was supported by a coherent and hard-hitting narrative. Her Shoeshine column on Powerhouse had just the right tone, while the story on Kiwi entrepreneur Iyia Liu provided important and highly relevant context about her family connections."
Stuart-Menteath holds arts and law degrees from the University of Otago, and a journalism post-grad diploma from AUT University. Before starting at NBR in 2014, she worked as a business reporter at Key Media and a court and political reporter at Cook Islands News.
