Auckland economy did better than expected through Covid: study

It is now the city is facing dangerous economic headwinds, according to a new study from Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and PwC.

The main theme from today’s report was Auckland’s resilience though the Covid period.

Auckland’s economy was in many ways more resilient over Covid than what its inhabitants may have believed, and it emerged from the height of the pandemic with more businesses and a much stronger economy relative to the rest of New Zealand, according to a new study.
