ANZ to buy Suncorp Bank

ANZ Banking Group has agreed to buy Australia's Suncorp Bank for A$4.9 billion ($5.4b).

It has requested a trading halt of its shares while it undertakes a bookbuild for a A$3.53b ($3.9b) capital raise.

Meanwhile, it has pulled out of talks to buy accounting software firm MYOB.
