During her 30-year career in journalism, there aren’t many jobs that Karyn Scherer hasn’t done. She has covered almost every beat except sport, and has had management roles at various publications, including The Daily Post, the NZ Herald, the Herald On Sunday, the NZ Listener, and a fantastic little community paper called Mahurangi Matters. She has also worked for the Financial Markets Authority, Callaghan Innovation, and as the national training manager for journalism for an ITO. But it has been business reporting that has occupied most of her time, and she has won many awards for her investigative work. She has returned to NBR after a break for family reasons, because she simply can’t seem to keep away.
