Graham Skellern

Graham Skellern has reported on the ebb and flow of business and the economy for the past 30 years and more. He was founding editor of the New Zealand Investor magazine during the heady sharemarket boom days in the 1980s. Next, he became the deputy business editor of New Zealand Herald, and covered all the business litigation following the sharemarket crash including every day of the Wine Box Inquiry. Graham then shifted to the western Bay of Plenty as business editor of the Bay of Plenty Times. He earlier had stints in the Parliamentary Press Gallery and as a ministerial press secretary.

Graham has a BA Degree majoring in Economics and Political Science from London School of Economics (LSE) and Victoria University, Wellington; he was awarded a Wolfson Scholarship to Cambridge University, England; and was named National Journalist of the Year Runner-up. He was also the first New Zealand journalist to gain a Rotary International Foundation scholarship and studied for a year at LSE.
