The son of a former flight engineer, Nick McIndoe's earliest aviation memories are of cruising the world in B747s. He fully succumbed to the aviation bug at Warbirds Over Wanaka 1996, the sight and sound of a dogfighting Spitfire and Messerschmitt sealing the deal. He went on to earn a PPL in 2001 and has recently reactivated it.
Nick began writing for NZ Aviation News in 2008, shortly after completing a freelance writing course. He always enjoyed, and scored his best marks in, the literary and language subjects, and sees writing for an aviation publication as a good way to combine two passions, even filling in as editor for a month in 2019.
Nick is also currently working towards a CPL, lives and breathes aviation, and just loves getting up in the air whenever he can.
