Nicholas joined NBR in October 2022 after spending the first four years of his career at RNZ. He has the pandemic to thank for his foray into business journalism. Nicholas moved to London in early 2020 after 18 months at RNZ. He was home within ten weeks due to Covid-19. While isolating in Auckland he managed to secure a casual contract at his former employer before he took the first full time job on offer - a seat at the business desk. Nicholas knew little about business or economics before he accepted the role but his curiosity held him in good stead. He came to relish covering the business world, becoming a regular feature across RNZ’s news programmes. Outside of work, Nicholas enjoys cooking, cleaning, oriental carpets and reality television. Nicholas is travelling overseas but plans to return to NBR later this year.
