Inflation miss turns some Aussie analysts into rate hawks

The RBA meets this week to vote on interest rates and some analysts see rate hikes ahead later this year.

The RBA is expected to leave rates on hold at this week’s meeting.

A one or two percentage point difference in Australia’s quarterly inflation rate has prompted a number of analysts to suggest that, instead of moving to cut interest rates as its next move, the Reserve Bank of Australia may be forced to hike them.
