Wealth tax: what could go wrong?

A wealth tax has been proposed for New Zealand by the Green Party. Such a proposal seems odd for a country that has not saved enough for its own investment purposes for nearly half a century (that is, recorded a persistent current account deficit). But perhaps first impressions can be misleading.
