Silver lining in latest confidence drop – only half are pessimistic

A majority of firms still rate their own perceptions of the future as positive but manufacturers have turned more pessimistic.

Headline business confidence continues to fall but the more influential assessment of firms’ own perceptions is holding steady but still at a nine-year low.

The latter has stabilised at a net 4% expecting an improvement, well below the long-term average of plus 27%, the ANZ Business Outlook
