Interest rates are continuing to plummet – at the start of the year 10-year NZ government bonds yielded 2.37%; today they are 1.55%.

If that sounds bad it could be considerably worse – some 26% of all sovereign bonds are trading at negative interest rates and total about $US14 trillion.
